En algunos hogares más necesitados, sus moradores mataban a las vacas para comérselas antes de que el hambre terminara con todos. En otros que tenían más viandas, y en su pajar no había nada de hierba, les daban a las vacas maíz, patatas, castañas, etc., y hasta las mismas hojas que mullían sus gergones.
